Answering Your Questions About Juvéderm Volite
Since we first began offering Juvéderm Volite in 2018, it has quickly risen the ranks as a favourite treatment among our patients — and our staff. We’ve certainly seen the ripple effect of its popularity and have been receiving more and more questions about what exactly it is, how it works and whether it’s worth considering.
We’re answering those questions (and then some!) to further spread the word about just how much we love this treatment.
What is Volite?
Volite is an injectable version of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring molecule in our skin that keeps it hydrated and healthy. The Juvéderm Volite treatment involves a series of tiny injections that keep the skin smooth, firm and hydrated for up to 9 months — far longer than any topical product. In fact, the HA contained in Volite can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, which means a whole lot of hydration for your skin.
How does Volite work?
In our mid-20s, our natural HA production starts to diminish, causing our skin to begin losing the natural firmness and sheen that helps us to look healthy and youthful. Volite replenishes the skin’s HA production by means of tiny injections, helping the skin to regain its hydration and resulting luminosity.
What’s the difference between Volite and other injectable treatments?
Volite replenishes your natural HA levels from the inside out in order to thoroughly rehydrate the skin, leaving it healthy and supple. Botox, on the other hand, relaxes specific muscles that cause wrinkles in common areas (such as frown lines, crow’s feet and upper lip wrinkles). Meanwhile, dermal fillers are injectables of safe gels — which often include HA — that restore lost volume in the face.
All three treatments have a shared goal of helping you look and feel your best, and it’s important to consult a cosmetic dermatologist to understand which should be prioritized in your 360° plan.
Is Volite right for me?
The great news is that Volite is an extremely versatile treatment that works wonders in combination with other treatments and can be incorporated into just about any 360° plan. Since our HA production declines in our mid-20s, it’s a safe and successful treatment for the vast majority of our patients.
What areas can be treated with Volite?
When we think of improving the skin’s hydration, we often focus on the face — but Volite’s benefits don’t end there. We recommend Volite for any of the areas most exposed to the sun and the elements that cause dehydration, making the neck, décolletage, hands, and body prime targets, too.
What’s the recovery time associated with Volite?
You may experience some redness for up to 90 minutes following the 15-minute treatment. Results will begin to appear immediately and will come into full effect within 10 days. No wonder we love it so much!
