Gillian Segal’s Volite Experience
Vancouver-based designer Gillian Segal is at the forefront of design innovation. She helps clients push past boundaries to create spaces that are comfortably luxurious and unique. Gillian has also been a long-time patient of Dr. Humphrey’s and recently took time out of her busy schedule to speak with us about her treatment experience with Juvéderm Volite.

Where did your personal treatment plan at H&B start? How has it evolved over the years?
Oh my goodness, I started so many years ago that I can’t remember how it started. But once I started working with Dr. Humphrey, there was no turning back! I love her holistic treatment approach and have so much trust in her. Because I’ve been seeing her for so many years, I feel like my treatment plan has naturally evolved and grown with me, and my life changes: 3 pregnancies, 2 children, and a good number of years later, my skin and my needs have altered. Shannon has been so wonderful about hearing my concerns while also giving me an honest and considered opinion.
Why did you decide to try Juvéderm Volite?
Balancing work-life and motherhood has taken a toll on my skin. I felt I looked very tired and that my complexion felt dull, so when Dr. Humphrey proposed this treatment to help with skin texture and hydration, I was all in!
Tell us about your treatment experience! Did it hurt?
I found the treatment quite painless (although I had some topical numbing and also have a fairly high pain tolerance).
What was recovery like?
It was very straightforward. Immediately following the treatment, I was blotchy and a tiny bit puffy, but that quickly subsided. I had a few very small bruises that lasted a few days after, but these were easy to conceal with makeup.
How do you feel since your treatment? What changes have you seen in your skin?
My skin looks more supple and definitely has more of a “glow.” I think this was also great at minimizing some of the finer lines.
Will Juvéderm Volite be a permanent part of your treatment plan moving forward?
Definitely.
Would you recommend this treatment to friends?
Yes!
What advice would you give to first-timers just embarking on skin treatments?
Start slow – you can always add as you progress. I’m no dermatologist, but I also think what you do in between treatments is extremely important. I have seen huge changes in my skin with the skincare products Dr. Humphrey has put me on that I use daily.
What keeps you coming back to H&B?
Dr. Humphrey (obviously!) and the rest of her team who are all incredible. It’s a five-star experience from the moment you walk in the door and after you get home and have the clinic calling you to check in.
